About Kevin Yatarola

Since bringing his little Kodak camera to concerts in his hometown (and home of Kodak) Rochester New York, Kevin Yatarola has been thrilled to be capturing images of his music idols.  During his 30 plus years in the music industry, Kevin’s photography has followed his work:  in the '70s he was shooting recording sessions for a small jazz label, in the '80s the finest in Celtic music, and the '00s indie rock bands and International stars as part of Palm Pictures (Chris Blackwell’s quirky music & film company).

In 2004, Kevin begin shooting regularly in New York City clubs, culminating in his current position as house photographer at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater.  Through those doors have traveled the famous, the infamous, and the future-famous in  music, theater, and performance art.

Over the years Kevin has expanded his reach to include Lincoln Center (American Songbook Series, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Midsummer Night Swing), the Bonnaroo Music Festival (2004 – present) and globalFEST (the premier one-day celebration of World Music, held annually in New York).  His freelance customers have included record labels, Spotify, NY Public Library, the ACLU, and a wide range of artists; his images have appeared in print in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Playbill, The Village Voice, and many others.  Web uses of his shots range from iTunes to The Huffington Post to various artist & label sites.

Kevin shoots exclusively in available (stage) lighting and travels with Nikon gear.
