Kids (and their adult friends) took to the dance floor for the annual Kids Dance event, a favorite each year at Midsummer Night Swing!

A little rain stop New Yorkers from dancing - fuggetaboutit, especially when its Tipica 73 celebrating their 40th anniversary. The dancing moved from the platform to the plaza as the dancers made their moves, with or without umbrellas!

Salsa night always brings out some of the sexiest dancers and tonight was no exception, especially when moved on by Arturo O'Farrill's hot band and guests celebrating the glory days of salsa in New York.

A night of funky soul, with King James and the Special Men, soul legend Young Jessie, and DJ Jonathan Toubin! A special treat was the world premier (?) Silent Disco Dance Contest, with judging luminaries Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), punk-funk icon James Chance (aka James White) and the legendary director Melvin Van Peebles.

Midsummer Night Swing celebrated July 4th with a classic battle of the bands, featuring swing bands from both coasts fighting it out with hard-driving swing before a sold-out crowd.

Week one of the 25th Anniversary season ended with a Caribbean Soca/Calypso party with the legendary Calypso Rose and her crack band.

The first Latin night of the season brought out the finest dancers, who danced the rain away to the music of the Spanish Harlem Orchestra. Enjoying from the wings was quintessential New Yorker (and Latin music fan) Paul Simon!

Boogie and swing took center stage with Mitch Woods and his Rocket 88!

The 25th season of Midsummer Night Swing kicked off with a sold-out show, Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center band, and special guests Norma Miller (teaching the Shim Sham), DJ Dawn Hampton, and Dr. Michael White on clarinet.
